Facebook and Twitter can prove cumbersome to manage once you add lots of friends and followers. This screencast shows you how to use Seesmic to manage your facebook and twitter accounts all in one place.
Many people still go through twitter.com to manage their account, which although they have made many improvements, still is not the easiest way to engage your followers.
A few advantages of using Seesmic or Tweetdeck (both have similar features):
- Handles multiple twitter accounts
- Displays up to four windows that can include your facebook feed, twitter feed, @ replies, direct messages, and any facebook fan pages you may administrate.
- Easy to search and follow new people.
- Easy to add people to twitter lists
Currently Tweetdeck has an iPhone app, while Seesmic only works on Android phones. However if you have an iPhone I suggest Tweetie 2 to manage your twitter profile. A major reason why many people never get comfortable using Twitter is because it’s hard to manage from the homepage, and hard to find new people to follow. Using a desktop client in my experience has increased the number of people I follow, primarily by making the discovery process easy.
The feature that converted me was being able to not only view my facebook feed but respond via commenting or liking updates. Rather than checking back and forth throughout the day I can send updates to both places from my desktop client.
Ready to get started! Click here to go to Seesmic’s site, here to go to Tweetdeck’s site. I would recommend downloading both and deciding which one you like better. You will not only save time but be much more effective in your ability to monitor your various feeds and engage friends and followers.

Where can I find Tweetie 2? You mention it as a good option for iPhone users. Does it have the same features as Seesmic or Tweetdeck?
Thanks – great info!
~Michelle
you can find tweetie 2 in the app store (just search tweetie).
twitter just purchased the company that produces tweetie so expect to see even more efficient changes in the future!
